The Heat is On

It is hot out here, and although we don't like it, the garden apparently does.  The squash has started coming in and every day  there is more then the day before, and that includes the cukes.

So we have had some great meals in the past week that I thought I would quickly recap on.

Curried Mustard Greens

With homemade naan (flat bread great for dipping).

Can you guess how this medley works up?

Grilled up with a seasoned dressing from our fresh herbs.

Then rice and local homemade smoked kielbasa (from Hager's Farm Market of course)....delicious!

Another look at our homemade ravioli and sauce...still amazed how good it is!

And last night was particularly hot so we started off by having one of Marc's home brews in a frosted mug.  That definitely took the edge off the humidity!

Then we made some salad with our home grown greens and cukes, local feta, homemade croutons and our fresh made herb dressing.

And then topped with Hager's London Broil steak.  Hit the spot.

And today, because of the abundance of cucumbers or maybe because I have been putting this project off for a week...I decided to make pickles.
Ice water bath.

Prepping with garlic and homegrown dill.

Processing...which was super hot.

Finished product.  We just have to wait 8 weeks before trying these kosher spears.
